Draw in placement to paint hydrangeas in acrylics.
I start with cartoon on some loose circles with the chisel edge of my pigment castor. No demand for them to exist perfect circles, hydrangeas can be oval shaped too.
I keep working them until I feel they are the correct size to fit the scale of my sign or design.
Painting hydrangea Leaves
Paint in some leaves to sit down behind the flowers (link at bottom of this post to How to Pigment Leaves). This is a version of my scallop leaf.
Under painting of hydrangeas
Paint in some color, darker at the bottom and lighter at the top for shadowing and highlighting.
Painting Hydrangea Petals
Paint a simple five petal flower. In this case I used a #half-dozen filbert brush but you can apply what size fits your design. I prefer larger petals so I would get with a larger castor for this.
A v petal blossom is simple. Imagine a stick figure man. Get-go stroke is the head. Then two arms on each side of the head.
Next pigment in the legs. And y'all have a 5 petal bloom.
Starting with the darker color I paint in some hydrangea petals forth the bottom and some on outside edges.
Once satisfied with the amount of dark hydrangea flowers or petals start working in the lighter ones.
I volition piece of work in a tad of dark-green hither and there. Keep adding flowers or petals until the under painting is more often than not covered.
Paint Pink Hydrangea Centers
Last just not least add some fiddling dots for the blossom centers with a liner brush.
Stand up dorsum and see if you need to add together or change anything. Sometimes y'all demand to just footstep away for a bit and come dorsum.
Many times walking abroad and coming back reveals you are really done.
Lettering
If you are making this into a sign so add the lettering once you flowers have dried. Hither is a postal service on lettering.
You get the idea in this video below. Just remember this is i of the very first videos I ever created and it is pretty rough.
